I am excited to report that preliminary testing shows Barnes & Noble’s nook™ to be compatible with both Adobe EPUB and PDF eBooks downloaded from the library; both eBook formats are able to easily transfer to the device using Adobe Digital Editions.
Our Support Team is still conducting testing on the device and once I get my hands on it, I will have a full review.

Thanks, Megan. I am making myself a librarian guinea pig on this one. I ordered a Nook for myself but can’t lay my paws on it until late January. When they first hit the scene, I contacted B&N about it and it looked like it would work on paper. So glad to hear it sounds like it will work.

The overdrive adobe epub format doesn’t work for me. I get "user not activated" when I try to read it on the nook. Same file works with Adobe’s digital ereader.
Tried activating my device via the Adobe Digital Editions software (nook attached usb). Now, when I try to open the epub it says formatting, but then returns back to my library listing. So I got over the "user not activated" but still not able to read it.
Success! Had to a) activate the nook via the Adobe Digital Editions software (on my Mac), then b) transfer the epub book via that software (not drag it over via the mounted usb)
I’ve got my nook, I’ve got all the software downloaded from the Iowa City Public Library website and I’m ready to go
Can someone please list the steps to move an epub book from Overdrive to the Nook?

First, you have to install the Adobe Digital Editions software on your computer.

What follows next, I cut-and-paste the instructions from http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/help/#transfer_sony_reader ; replacing ‘Sony Reader’ with ‘Nook’. *grin*
Connect the Nook to your computer and launch Digital Editions. Digital Editions automatically detects the presence of your Nook and offers to authorize it with your Adobe ID. If you have not authorized Digital Editions with your computer, you will need to complete that first (Digital Editions guides you through that process). Both Digital Editions and
the Nook must be authorized to be able to transfer protected content to and from the Nook. Unprotected content can be
transferred to and from the device without authorizing either the device
or Digital Editions, but Adobe strongly advises authorizing Digital Editions as it gives you content portability for your protected books, whether on Digital Editions or your Nook.
After authorization, the Nook appears as a new bookshelf in your library. You can transfer items to and from the Nook bookshelf just as you do with other bookshelves in your library.

Have WMA audio books from Iowa City library.Want to transfer to the Nook…but Nook apparently reads MP3 only. Have IPOD where WMA converts to MP3. Any help how to move to the Nook. Is there a converter available? Thanks.
