On Friday, our resident librarian blogger, Lindsey Levinsohn, told you how libraries influenced her at an early age. Just like Lindsey, some of m
y most vivid childhood memories are from the hours I spent in the children’s section of the Erie County Public Library in Pennsylvania. We made crafts, we had story time, and we even played computer games on an Apple computer with a 5 1/4″ floppy disk drive. I still remember the children’s librarian who ran the show. (Thanks, Kitty!)
Of course, the best part of going to the library was being able to take home a page turner. Out of all the books in those stacks, the Goosebumps books by R.L. Stine were always highest on my must check out list.
So for National Library Week we want to know: What was your favorite book or series when you were growing up? Leave a comment on this post, and at the end of the week, we’ll randomly select one commentor to receive a publisher prize package featuing audiobooks, print books, and DVDs. If the book is available in your library’s digital collection, don’t forget to post a link to the title page. (Not necessary to win, but always a bonus.)
The National Library Week giveaway ends Friday, April 16, at 11:59 pm ET.
